In La Souterraine, there was several bakeries, butchers, a lingerie shop, a children's clothing shop, a dress shop, furniture shop, stationery shop, and more and none were chains. We passed by the train station; there are several trains to Paris every day. Leaving the chateau, I walked down a unpaved road with a stone fence surrounded by luscious trees.
